Mac Audio Sync does not collect, transmit, or store any personal information. The application runs entirely on your Mac and contains no analytics, telemetry, advertising, or crash reporting. Your audio, your settings, and your device list never leave your Mac.
It makes exactly one network request: on launch it checks agmapps.net for a newer version. That request carries nothing about you — no identifier, no usage data — though like any web request it necessarily reveals your IP address to the server answering it. Section 3 explains it fully, including how to block it.

To do its job — synchronizing audio output across multiple devices — Mac Audio Sync interacts with macOS in the following ways. All of this happens locally on your Mac, with no data leaving the device:
The app enumerates the audio output devices connected to your Mac (built-in speakers, external displays, USB DACs, etc.) using Apple's standard Core Audio APIs. This is necessary so you can select which devices to sync. No information about your devices is transmitted off your Mac.
When you enable synchronization, the app routes the system audio stream to your selected output devices in parallel. The audio passes through Core Audio buffers only and is never inspected, recorded, or stored.
Your settings (selected devices, volume levels, launch-at-login preference, menu bar behavior) are saved to your Mac's local user preferences using Apple's UserDefaults system. These preferences stay on your device.
If you enable "Launch at Login" from the menu bar dropdown, macOS registers Mac Audio Sync as a login item using Apple's SMAppService API. You can disable this at any time, either inside the app or from System Settings > General > Login Items.
Mac Audio Sync makes one kind of outbound network connection, and only one: it checks whether a newer version is available.
The app does not otherwise phone home, does not fetch remote configuration, does not contain analytics, and sends no telemetry of any kind.
A correction, stated openly: earlier versions of this policy said the app made no outbound network connections at all. That was accurate when it was written, and it stopped being accurate when the built-in update checker shipped in version 1.7. The description above reflects what the app actually does.
Mac Audio Sync contains no third-party advertising SDKs, no analytics SDKs, no crash reporting SDKs, and no social-media SDKs. It is built using only Apple's first-party frameworks (Swift, SwiftUI, AppKit, Core Audio, ServiceManagement). There are no partners with whom we could share data, because there is no data.
Mac Audio Sync is distributed as a signed and notarized .dmg installer from agmapps.net. Apple notarization is an automated security check; it does not transmit personal information about you to AGM Apps. When you first launch the app, macOS Gatekeeper may communicate with Apple to verify the developer signature — this is a standard macOS security feature controlled by Apple, not by AGM Apps.
Mac Audio Sync does not request access to your Camera, Microphone, Photos, Files, Contacts, Calendar, Location, or any other protected resource. It uses only the standard Core Audio interfaces available to all macOS applications, which require no special permission prompts.
Mac Audio Sync is a general-purpose audio utility. It does not collect data from anyone, including children under 13.
Privacy laws give you rights over personal data a company holds about you. In our case the honest answer is unusual, so we will say it plainly: we hold no personal data about you at all. Mac Audio Sync has no accounts, no sign-in, no analytics, and no telemetry, and nothing you do in the app is transmitted to us. There is no database with your name in it, because there is no database.
For users in the EEA, the UK, or Switzerland: the only processing we carry out is serving the update-check file described in Section 3, which relies on our legitimate interest under Article 6(1)(f) in keeping installed copies of the software current and secure. AGM Apps, established in the State of Florida, United States, is the controller for that limited processing. Our host's standard web-server logs are retained for 30 days and then deleted; we retain nothing else, for any period, because we receive nothing else. Where those logs are processed in the United States, the transfer relies on the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework or the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses, as set out in our host's terms.
You have the right to access, correct, delete, port, restrict, or object to processing of your personal data, and to lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority — the EDPB directory in the EEA, the ICO in the UK, or the FDPIC in Switzerland. If you are a resident of California, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas, Oregon, Montana, or any other U.S. state with a comprehensive privacy law, you have equivalent rights to know, delete, correct, port, and opt out, plus the right to appeal a refusal and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising them.
We do not sell your personal information and do not share it for targeted advertising. There is no advertising in this app, no advertising identifier is read, and no third party receives anything about you. Where these pages are read in a browser sending a Global Privacy Control signal, we honor it — though there is nothing for it to switch off.
To exercise any right, email [email protected]. We will acknowledge within 10 business days and respond within 45 days. Because we hold nothing that identifies you, we will usually have to tell you that there is no record to produce, correct, or delete — under Article 11(2) GDPR we are not required to acquire additional information just to identify you, and we will not ask you for identification we do not otherwise need.
If future versions of Mac Audio Sync ever change what data is processed (for example, if we add an optional opt-in update checker), this Privacy Policy will be updated, and the "Last Updated" date above will be revised. We will never change behavior in a way that contradicts the no-data-collection commitments in this policy without a clear version-note and updated policy.
